The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the T20 World Cup 2022 is underway at the Adelaide Oval. With both teams fighting hard for that fourth semifinal spot, the game is slowly but steadily shaping up for a thriller. While Pakistan got an early breakthrough in the form of Litton Das, Bangladesh knitted a crucial partnership to steady the ship for their team.
However, Shadab Khan once again proved to be the game-changer for Pakistan with his two wickets on consecutive deliveries of the very next over bowled after the drinks break. Khan first got the best of Soumya Sarkar as the southpaw tried to reverse sweep. Khan got him caught at the hands of Shan Masood who was stationed at point. He then dismissed the Bangladesh skipper for a golden duck.
Shakib Al Hasan was adjudged LBW by the on-field umpire as the ball hit his boots when he came dancing down the pitch to negate the turn. However, the batter was not convinced and asked for a DRS. The ultraedge showed a spike as the ball passed Shakib’s bat but the third umpire was convinced it was from the bat hitting the turf and not the ball hitting the bat. The third umpire then asked for the ball tracker and stayed with the on-field decision with three reds.
But clearly, Shakib was not happy as he was seen having an animated discussion with Joe Wilson. One of the on-air commentators was also heard criticizing the decision saying there was clearly an inside edge. And so were the Bangladeshi fans. They lashed out at the umpire for his controversial decision as they called it blatant cheating.
