Toss is uncontrollable they say. Yet while there is a 50 per cent probability of a captain winning a toss at the outset, India captain Virat Kohli lost the toss in the last 13 of the 14 matches including all three of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup fixtures so far. As a result of this, Team India were put into a disadvantaged position in the first two of their matches which were crunch games against Pakistan and New Zealand.

On all three India matches at the T20 World Cup so far, the opposition captain has won the toss and chosen to field first since dew plays a role in the second innings making it difficult for the bowlers to grip the wet ball. India ended up on the losing side on both occasions and now stare at a possible early exit from the tournament if they do not win each of their remaining matches with a big margin and some other results do not go their way.

In such a situation, the ongoing T20 World Cup match against Afghanistan became a do-or-die one for them and yet again Kohli has lost the toss. Following a forgettable string of losing tosses for Kohli, netizens were quick to share all kinds of memes and posts on social media.

"Firstly there's no denying the fact that the situation is a tricky one. Having said that there's still a chance. We as a team will look at the chance and try to play positive cricket. We know we haven't played up to potential whatever the reasons might be - need to brush that aside," captain Kohli said at the toss.

"Would have bowled first. But it's not a bad thing against a side like Afghanistan who look to put up runs on the board. Couple of changes - Surya is back as he's fit. Ashwin replaces Varun who has a bit of a niggle," he added.
