Manchester United delivered a stunning performance against UEFA Champions League (UCL) hopefuls Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season, defeating them with a convincing margin of 2-0 at Old Trafford. With this big result, Manchester United jumped to 15th place in the final Premier League standings with 42 points to their name, but regardless, it was easily their worst finish in the English top flight in decades.
Following the completion of the match, Ruben Amorim, the Manchester United manager, took the mic in the middle of the hallowed turf of Old Trafford, to address the club fans inside the stadium but all over the world. He started his speech by apologising to the fans for poor performances in the season, while thanking the fans for supporting them through thick and thin.
After this disastrous season, I want to tell you the good days are coming: Ruben Amorim
“But now we have to make a choice or we stay stuck in the past because this season is in the past -- it's over. We fight each other or we stick together and move forward,” Ruben Amorim said. After wanting everyone at Manchester United to put everything that’s happened in the rear view mirror, the Portuguese remarked, “Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you, ‘the storm is coming.’ Today after this disastrous season, I want to tell you the good days are coming.”

“If there is one club in the world that proves in the past that can overcome any situation, any disaster, it is our club, Manchester United Football Club. Now I want to say sorry also to my players. Sometimes I was not fair, but I try always to be honest with you guys. Thank you very much, see you next season,” concluded Ruben Amorim.
While the speech from the 40-year-old was inspiring to say the least, he has a big task at hand to put his words into action. With the current struggles of Manchester United and his assertion of playing the 3-4-3 formation, there is a big squad overhaul needed at the club this summer, which will allow him to gain some footing in regards to not only getting his ideas through, but also implement them to their fullest.
