Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has revealed an incident where Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni lost his cool in an uncharacteristic fashion. Renowned around the world as ‘Captain Cool’, Dhoni has often shown off his calm demeanour in difficult situations across his over two-decade-long career.

So whenever the former India cricketer losses his cool, it often raises eyebrows. Going back to Singh, the multiple-time IPL champion, was asked by a fan to speak about an incident where Dhoni was extremely angry in the dressing room, while he was commentating on Star Sports.

Addressing the question, the Turbanator spoke shared an anecdote, about when he was playing for the CSK. Harbhajan Singh revealed that as the team was playing practice in Jharkhand. In the practice games, the CSK squad was divided into multiple teams out of which Dhoni’s team was performing poorly.

Hence when Dhoni’s team finished last, he lost his cool and broke the handle of his bat in anger.

Harbhajan said, “We were playing in Jharkhand. We were playing some game in a warm-up session. We had formed our own teams and Dhoni's team was lagging behind. He came at the last and he threw his bat so badly the handle broke.”

Continuing his role as the Chennai Super Kings captain, Dhoni has led the Yellow Army well in IPL 2023. The four-time champions have so far won four out of their six games and are currently third on the table. But as many speculations, this would be Dhoni’s last IPL as alluded to by Captain Cool himself.

While speaking at the post-match presentation after the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he described the season as the last phase of his career. He said, “Whatever said and done, it’s the last phase of my career, however long I play. It’s important to enjoy it. After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. The crowd has given us a lot of love and affection. Not getting enough chances to bat, but no complaints."
