The tenth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) saw the latter become the first team to register an away team in the 2024 edition. While Virat Kohli’s 83 went in vain, the Indian and RCB star batter took the internet by story as he shared a heartwarming moment with Gautam Gambhir.
Putting an end to the cricketing rivalry, the two Indian stars, Kohli and Gambhir hogged the limelight as they shared a hug during the strategic timeout after the 16th over in the RCB inning. Just when the two took away the attention of the match, Ravi Shastri, who is part of the commentary panel said, “Fairplay award to KKR for this hug between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir”.
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who is also a part of the commentary panel in the IPL 2024, said, “not only a fairplay award, but also an Oscar aw ard.”

Notably, the two were seen for the first time after their heated exchange during IPL 2023. The Indian batter hogged the limelight after his on-field altercation with Naveen-ul-Haq, later involving the then LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir.
Speaking of the points table in the IPL 2024, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dropped to sixth place after their second defeat in the season, meanwhile the Shreyas Iyer-led KKR jumped to the second spot after their second straight win in IPL 2024.
