The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had invited all the three Indian Armed Forces chiefs to attend the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3. With the invitation to the chiefs, the board wants to honour the armed forces for their valiance during Operation Sindoor, which happened in response to the dastard Pahalgam attack in Kashmir that took place on April 22. In the dastardly attack, 26 people lost their lives and to avenge that, the Indian Armed Forces executed the operation on the terror-based outfits in Pakistan.
On May 27, BCCI made an announcement to pay homage to Indian Armed Forces for their valiance through the tournament's closing ceremony. However, as per a report from NDTV, all three chiefs won’t mark their presence in the summit game. During the start of Operation Sindoor, IPL 2025 was suspended for a week from May 9 to 16. The game between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 8 was also abandoned during the operation.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru to contest against Punjab Kings or Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 final
RCB, who hammered Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1, will either take on Mumbai Indians (MI) or Shreyas Iyer’s team in the final to be played on June 3 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. After beating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 20 runs in Eliminator on May 30, Mumbai will look to showcase their best against PBKS, who looked completely out of rhythm against Rajat Patidar and Co.
On the other hand, Punjab will look to push themselves to beat MI to qualify for the final after 11 years. Both Mumbai and Punjab played against each other at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 26, in which the latter emerged victorious by seven wickets.
