In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 contest between Punjab Kings (PBKS ) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Mohali, the latter’s pacers, Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled exceptionally in the final overs of the first innings. The fast-bowling duo splurged only 28 runs in the last four overs and contained PBKS on 157/6 in their 20 overs. Both bowlers failed to claim any wickets for their team but received a lot of appreciation from the followers of the sport. Bhuvneshwar ended his spell with 0/26 figures in four overs while Hazlewood registered 0/39 figures after completing his four-over quota.

Noting their jaw-dropping piece of bowling in death overs, social media users couldn’t hold themselves from commending their sensational effort. An X user named Manikandan wrote, “Tight death-over spell from this duo. Hazelwood and Bhuvi. #RCBvsPBKS.”

RCB head towards target with composure

Pursuing a target of 158, RCB lost Phil Salt in the opening over but Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal settled at the crease and built a 103-run partnership off just 69 balls. Their stand helped RCB have a command over the game. Padikkal departed after smashing superb 61 runs off just 35 balls. His innings was studded with nine boundaries (five fours and four maximums).

As of writing, RCB required only 33 runs off 27 balls. Kohli (unbeaten 50 off 43) is accompanied by captain Rajat Patidar (unbeaten 12 off 12) in the middle. If Challengers succeed in pulling off the score, it will be their fifth away victory in the tournament. Earlier, they breached the fortresses of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
