After opening their Asia Cup 2022 campaign with a defeat against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka have made a sensational comeback in the continental showpiece to win all their next games and defeated Pakistan in the finals on September 11, Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka lifted the Asia Cup 2022 title after beating Pakistan by 23 runs as Bhanuka Rajapaksa displayed a batting masterclass while Wanindu Hasaranga's all-round performance and a well-planned bowling execution from Pramod Madushan helped the team to register the victory in Sunday's game.

Earlier, Sri Lanka Cricket withdrew from contesting the Asia Cup 2022 in the country due to economical crisis and political unrest in the country and the decision saw the United Arab Emirates getting the venue rights.
