Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their new manager on a three-year deal until 2028, on Thursday, June 12. The 51-year-old, who hails from Denmark, is replacing Ange Postecoglou in the role after the latter was sacked from the job despite taking Tottenham Hotspur to their first major trophy in 17 years, winning the UEFA Europa League (UEL) final against Manchester United last month with a 1-0 scoreline.

Notably, Thomas Frank was the manager of Brentford for seven years, and during this time, he took the club from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021, turning their trajectory upside down. After helping Brentford finish in 10th spot in the league table with 56 points in 38 matches, the Dane is going to manage the club which finished in 17th spot with just 38 points ahead of the relegation zone after losing 22 of their 38 matches.

Frank has become the fourth permanent managerial appointment at Tottenham since summer of 2021

Since the summer of 2021, Thomas Frank has become the fourth permanent managerial appointment at Tottenham Hotspur after the likes of Ange Postecoglou, Antonio Conte, and Nuno Espirito Santo. As per the report published by BBC Sport, Justin Cochrane will join him as the assistant coach, while he will also be joined at the club by head of performance Chris Haslam and first-team analyst Joe Newton from Brentford, while Andreas Georgson is making his way from Manchester United.

With the announcement of Thomas Frank as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, his former club Brentford thanked him for the “incredible impact he has had on the club’s history”. Phil Giles, the director of football at Brentford, was quoted as saying on the development, “From the moment he (Thomas Frank) replaced Dean Smith, he understood what we were trying to build and his wisdom, coaching ability and emotional intelligence have helped transform the club.”
