The battle of the Royals and the Punjab Kings finally emerged victorious as they defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 runs in a high scoring thriller. The game went down to the wire as Rajasthan needed 13 runs in the final over. However, a stunning bowling performance by uncapped Arshdeep Singh completed Punjab’s redemption as they finally managed to defend a 200- run target against Rajasthan. Skipper Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 119 off 63 balls and almost took his side home with his valiant effort.
After being put to bat, the Punjab Kings scored a mammoth 221, courtesy of a captain’s knock from KL Rahul (91) and fiery innings from Deepak Hooda, whose 28-ball 64 demolished the Rajasthan attack.
The rollercoaster game not only brought entertainment on the field but gave trollers and Twitterati a chance to entertain off the field as well.
