There is hardly any end to India vs Pakistan cricket rivalry. A section of cricket fans from both countries misses no opportunity to demean the players from the rival team and some similar incident took place on Monday afternoon, but with an interesting addition. A Pakistan cricket fan, identified as Haroon (@hazharoon) claimed on Twitter that if ‘Babar Azam would bat on flat Indian pitches, he’d have 25 ODI hundreds by now.’

Notably, the tweet from the Pakistan cricket fan came after Virat Kohli scored his 46th ODI century. However, in response to Pakistan cricket fan’s tweet, renowned Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta hit back by claiming that if ‘Virat, Rohit, Pujara, Rahane would have batted on the ‘roads’ in Pakistan, they would have added 10 Test centuries each to their names.’

The matter got spicier when former South African captain AB de Villiers jumped into the scene suggesting to ‘try South Africa as a base.

While Indian pitches remain to be of the best quality, Pakistan pitches have become a matter of embarrassment for the neighbors. The Rawalpindi wicket was exposed for the first time during a Test match against Australia when even ICC slapped the venue with demerit points.

Similar pitches were offered during England series and recently against New Zealand. Even former PCB Chief Ramiz Raja compared the current pitches in Pakistan to the ‘dark ages’ and admitted that the board needs to work hard to build sporting pitches.
