After getting belted for 207 runs while bowling, Sunrisers Hyderabad were kept in the chase by Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran. After SRH lost Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson, and Rahul Tripathi early in the innings, the duo stitched a 60-run partnership to keep SRH in the hunt. Even after losing Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran was looking all set to win it for his team as the batter was hitting anything and everything coming his way.

However, Pooran's heroics was cut short by Shardul Thakur who got him off a high full toss to end SRH's possibilities. On the fifth delivery of the 18th over, Thakur bowled a high full toss outside the off-stump which Pooran tried to deposit into the cow corner region. However, he could not time it and the ball ballooned up in the air and was caught by Rovman Powell at long-on.

As the ball was a high full toss, the on-field umpires referred it to the third umpire to check for a waist no-ball. Upon reviewing from multiple angles, the third umpire called it a fair delivery, and Pooran was adjudged caught out. However, a section of Twitter users questioned the judgment and looked unhappy.

"Bahut hi ghatiya umpiring. I am a DC (Delhi Capitals) fan, I still cannot accept it, clear no-ball by Shardul still Pooran is out, konse saste nashe krne waale umpire le aaye be?? That is unacceptable simply," wrote one user.
