Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) are going through an absolute turmoil both on and off the field. From the ongoing pay disputes between players and the board to shambolic performances against Bangladesh and England, one of Asia's powerhouses of cricket have certainly hit the rock bottom. To add salt to the wound, three players - Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella - have been suspended for the ODI series against England just a day before the 1st ODI. The decision has been taken after the trio broke breached the bio-bubble restrictions.

Sri Lankan fans express their disappointment on Twitter

As a result of this incident, the already disappointed Sri Lankan fans have gone absolutely berserk on social media slamming the players and team management. While people are criticizing SLC for their political decisions to appoint Kusal Mendis as the vice-captain, the others are slamming the players for their reckless act of breaching bio-bubble protocols while representing their country at the international stage.

There was also a section of fans who wanted the former players of Sri Lanka to step ahead in getting their side back to where it was. While this is surely an embarrassing incident for the whole nation, some fans hoped that it could be a blessing in disguise with the board finally considering senior members like Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal and Dimuth Karunaratne for the series against India.
