Punjab Kings registered a nail-biting 4-run victory against Rajasthan Royals in the fourth match of IPL 2021. Both the sides came up with excellent batting performances, with as many as 438 runs scored in the match. Sanju Samson’s brilliant 119, which is the highest by a debutant captain in the history of the IPL went in vain for the Royals. There was plenty of entertainment for the fans with 24 maximums being hit in the match.
Appearance of' Blue Ball' confuses fans
There was also an interesting happening during the 2nd innings which left the fans confused. A mysterious blue layer was spotted on the ball when RR skipper Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler were batting. The blue layer was especially noticeable during the replays for a review call, when Samson was ruled out by umpire Anil Chaudhary before the call was overturned.
This emergence of the blue layer on the ball puzzled the fans who had no clue as to what it was. The analysts on Select Dugout mentioned that it could have been paint from the advertising board or ropes when Jos Buttler had smashed a six.
