On Wednesday, May 29, two people, including a 17-year-old, died after an SUV in the convoy of the former WFI President, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s son hit a bike. Karan Bhushan Singh, the BJP MP candidate from Kaiserganj, isn’t confirmed to be involved in the fatal accident, which happened in an area under the Colonelganj police station jurisdiction in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.

As per the report from NDTV, the driver of the SUV, Luvkush Srivastava, was arrested and the vehicle was seized by the police in the aftermath of the fatal incident. The visuals from the accident showed that the SUV had “police escort” written on it, while the number “UP32HW1800” is said to be registered in the name of an educational institution run by the family of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the six-time MP in the Indian Parliament.

The FIR filed by the complainant Chanda Begum said that around 9 AM on Wednesday, May 29, her 17-year-old son Rehan and 24-year-old nephew Shehzad were driving their bike to buy some medicines when the SUV hit them from the opposite side, killing both of them on the spot. In the fatal accident, a 60-year-old woman, identified as Sita Devi, also got injured and she has been hospitalised.

Radhe Shyam Raid, the Additional SP was quoted as saying, as per Times of India, “Rehan and Shehzad, the two were on the bike when they met an accident. Police took them to hospital where both were declared dead. Bodies are sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered under the appropriate sections. Fortuner has been taken into custody. The driver of the SUV is also arrested.”
