After missing out on a major fight with Anthony Joshua, the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury is set to lock horns against his former opponent Derek Chisora. The British boxing sensation is scheduled to get into the ring on 3 December reportedly at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

As per reports in August, Fury was in talks with Del Boy War prior to offering Anthony Joshua a shot at the WBC belt. Chisora and Fury have previously fought each other twice, and the King of the Gypsies won on both occasions. Their first bout was in July 2011 at the Wembley Arena in London where Fury won unanimously on points after 12 rounds.

Their second encounter was three years later, in November 2014. Held at the Excel in London,  Fury won again when Chisora’s corner threw in the towel at the end of the 10th round. The 38-year-old Chisora announced retirement after he took down  Kubrat Pulev in the summer. But he is ready to make come back and hopefully beat his nemesis.

British Bowing promoter Frank Warren has revealed Chisora as Fury’s new opponent on IFL TV. In the announcement, Warren stated that Fury was expected to face Oleksandr Usyk but he wasn’t available. Warren said, “It went on for three or four weeks and we struggled to get an opponent.

Now we’ve got the highest-ranked opponent and that is Derek Chisora on December 3. Tyson would’ve had one fight in a year and we always expected that the fight in December would be (Oleksandr) Usyk but he’s not available - now I hope that will be going on sometime in February.

The 70-year-old then also addressed the Anthony Joshua situation which sidetracked them from finding an opponent early. Warren also expressed that Derek Chriso could be a better, more competitive opponent for Fury.

He said, “Tyson wants to fight before then and we want to get him out. We got sidetracked with the situation with AJ (Anthony Joshua). I hope that it will be competitive but I just think that Tyson is head and shoulders above all of them. Derek might give him more of a fight than Anthony Joshua - I just think he (AJ) is more vulnerable.”
