The umpiring has been under the scanner in the entire limited over series and the high-scoring 2nd ODI again became the talk of Twitter due to another controversial third umpire’s call. England all-rounder Ben Stokes survived a close run-out call during the second ODI against India at MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday. Stokes, who came out to bat at number 3 after the dismissal of Jason Roy, rode his luck as he survived close calls during the early part of his innings.

Twitterati blasts the third umpire

The incident happened during the 26th over of England's run-chase, when Kuldeep Yadav's direct hit found its mark from the deep mid-wicket boundary and as the on-field umpire could not see it properly, he referred it to the TV umpire. Replays showed that Stokes’ bat was on the line but instead of going by the rules and adjourning him out, the decision was made in the batsman's favour.

The Twitterati were clearly not impressed with the decision as they vent out their frustrations on social media.

Here are some of the reactions:

Out or Not Out? - Yuvraj Singh joins the debate

India's former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh too agreed with the frustrated fans and believed that England's southpaw was out and the decision should have gone against him. Yuvraj took to Twitter and explained that no part of the bat was touching over the line and it was just showing that it was over.
