Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing the Italian and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, in the ongoing summer transfer window. It is understood that the 26-year-old, whose current contract with PSG expires in 2026, has privately held discussion about the potential of leaving the French club, who are currently the Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League holders.

As per the report published in French news website L’Equipe, Gianluigi Donnarumma and PSG have had discussions about contract extension, but no progress has been made on the same until the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which concluded earlier this month. PSG lost the final of the aforementioned tournament to Chelsea 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 13, and now, they are focused on getting prepared for the 2025-26 season.

PSG agree personal terms with Lucas Chevalier amid Gianluigi Donnarumma's rumours

While Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at PSG isn’t certain, the French club won’t be letting him go without signing a best possible replacement. It is understood that PSG want to secure the services of Lucas Chevalier, the 23-year-old, from Lille before they decide to give Gianluigi Donnarumma an exit from the club either before his current contract runs out or on a free transfer next summer.

As per the reports, PSG are currently pushing to sign Lucas Chevalier, who is contracted with Lille until 2027, where he has made quite a name for himself over the last couple of years. The talks between both the clubs began a few days ago in regards to a five-year contract for the French goalkeeper, and he has already reached an agreement with PSG on joining them prior to the start of the 2025-26 season of football.
