The purpose of organizing Legends League Cricket was to roll back the years and let the cricket fans witness their all-time favourite cricketers once again in the same avatar. The 11th match of the second season of the league between Gujarat Giants and Bhilwara Kings fulfilled the sole purpose of organizing such an exciting tournament.

After Irfan Pathan invited Parthiv Patel-led side to bat first, Giants opener Lendl Simmons and Chris Gayle hammered the opponent bowlers by smashing them all around the park. While Simmons could only contribute with 22-runs in 18 balls with the help of five boundaries, the Caribbean batting great Chris Gayle brought back old memories with his batting prowess.

Although Gayle took some time to open his account, he did that in style as he smashed Fidel Edwards for a boundary in the 1st delivery of the 3rd over. Since then, Gayle was unstoppable as he kept on punishing Kings bowlers in the match.

'Universe Boss' enabled his beast mode in the 8th over of the match as he smashed three boundaries and two maximums in the over off Yusuf Pathan. The 43-year-old was at its best as he added 68-runs off 40 deliveries before Shane Watson dismissed him in the 14th over. Interestingly, Gayle was caught by Yusuf Pathan.

At the time the Caribbean batter got dismissed, Gujarat Giants were in the commanding position as they were cruising ahead at 126/4 in 14 overs. Gayle's innings was nothing less than a treat for all the cricket fans as they were delighted to see the batting legend once against at his ultimate best.
