Diogo Jota was a Portuguese International footballer who played as a forward for the Premier League club Liverpool. On 3rd July, Diogo and his brother Andre Silva lost their lives due to a car accident in Spain due to the tire blowout of his Lamborghini, which shook the entire world. The whole footballing world was left in disbelief as just recently he was at the peak of his career lifting the Nations League trophy with Portugal and the Premier league title with Liverpool. Just a week before this accident Diogo Jota tied the knot with the love of his life Rute Cardoso in an intimate wedding ceremony.
Now, after 20 days of his death, Diogo Jota's wife penned down an emotional note through a post on her social media on the occasion of their one-month wedding anniversary. "1 month of our until death do us part. For ever, Your white girl," Rute Cardoso wrote in an emotional Instagram post. Together Diogo and Rute had three children Dinis (four) and Duarte (two) and daughter Madalfa (eight months).

Diogo Jota's funeral was attended by many of his Liverpool & Portugal team-mates , for them it will take a lot of time to face the tragic passing of their friend and will hold a special place in their heart for Diogo JotaDiogo was a very vibrant player and had been a part of Liverpool FC since 2020, when he joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He played over 182 games in his Liverpool career and scored approximately 65 goals. In memory of Diogo Jota, Liverpool decided to immortalise his jersey no.20 and also decided to pay the remaining two-years of his contract to his family.
