Cricketers and actors share close bonds in the nation, as both the professionals are highly adored and have huge fan following across the globe. But, when it's about Rajnikanth, the admiration has no limits, his fans leave no stone unturned to impress the actor with their tributes. In one such tribute, Venkatesh Iyer, the prolific batsman from Madhya Pradesh who is in the form of his life, gave tribute to Thalaiva in his own style after scoring yet another century in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Venkatesh Iyer was seen mimicking the trademark salute of Thalaiva and imitated the way Rajnikanth wears glasses in his movie. The moment came after Iyer scored yet another blazing century against Chandigarh, and celebrated by giving tribute to the actor on his 71st birthday. On multiple occasions, the cricketer has expressed his admiration for the actor and he was quoted saying that 'he can go to any extent for the actor'.

Coming in to bat at number six, Iyer went on to hit 151 from 113 balls helping Madhya Pradesh pile 331-9 in their 50 overs. Batting at a strike-rate of 133.63, Iyer smashed eight fours and ten sixes. He was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma. The 26-year-old has so far scored two centuries from four outings in the domestic 50-over tournament. He had scored 112 off 84 balls against Kerala in the previous encounter. Before that, the all-rounder hit 71 off 49 balls against Uttarakhand.

After his 151-run knock against Chandigarh, Iyer has now accumulated 348 runs from four matches. Rajnikanth, on the other hand has acted in over 160 films in his unparalleled acting career. He was last seen in the movie Annathee, which was directed by Siva, and also featured prominent actors like Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Meena and Khushbu.
