Several Indian sporting personalities have paid tribute to victims of the terror attack that took place in Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22. In the horrendous incident, at least 26 people have lost their lives. It is the first major attack in the Kashmir valley after the infamous 2019 Pulwama strike that claimed the lives of more than 40 CRPF personnel. Taking to Instagram, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli displayed his concern for the families of the victims and expressed solidarity through a story. He wrote, "Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act."

Along with Kohli, Team India coach Gautam Gambhir also paid homage to the victims. “Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike. #Pahalgam,” wrote Gambhir in his X post. Besides Kohli and Gambhir, renowned cricketing names such as KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble, and Virender Sehwag also paid tribute to the victims through social media posts.
