Royal Challengers Bangalore star batter Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis are currently the top two names in the IPL 2023 orange cap list, with the skipper leading it. The top performers of the Indian Premier League 2023, have time and again proved their skills by smashing runs for their team, helping them put up good scores on the board. Over the years, the players have developed a strong camaraderie, both on and off the field, and recently Kohli has called Faf his "partner in cringy jokes."
Royal Challengers Bangalore picked Faf in the year 2022 and was given the captaincy as Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy in 2021. Needless to say, selecting the South African cricketer has been proven as a good choice for the franchise, as the team made it to the qualifiers last season, and has been performing well this season as well.
The videos and pictures doing rounds on social media are a solid testament of the chemistry Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis share on the pitch and off it. One such proof is the recent post of the former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli. He has shared a picture with Faf, declaring him as his partner in cringy jokes. In Kohli’s recent Instagram post, both the cricketers can be seen having a gala time; the post was captioned, “Partner on the crease, partner in cringy jokes 😆 @fafdup”.
Notably, Du Plessis tops the Orange Cap list for 2023 season with 422 runs at an average of 60.29, and Virat Kohli is the second player on the list with 333 runs averaging 47.57. Royal Challengers Bangalore have won four out of their eight fixtures in the IPL 2023, and they will now lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants on May 1, Monday in Lucknow.
