India and Australia qualified for the biennial World Test Championship Final which was held in England at the Oval from June 7-11. In the Ultimate Test, Australia dominated India in all aspects of the game and won the game with a massive margin of 209 runs. This defeat took India away from the dream of another ICC trophy, the last which was won in 2013.
After the heartbreaking loss, Virat Kohli took to Instagram to share a cryptic message. The message which he posted on his story read, “Silence is the source of great strength,” lines from Lao Tzu. The exact meaning of this message by Virat cannot be predicted, but this could be related to his sub-par performance in the WTC final. He managed to score just 14(31) and 49(78) in both the innings of the Test. India had a steep chance to win the Test on the final day by scoring 280 more runs with seven wickets in hand.
The quote in Kohli’s Instagram story is a famous quote by Ancient Chinese Taoist Lao Tzu. This quote potentially tells us the importance of silence and how it can help achieve great strengths. Virat had posted another story on Saturday, which said, “If we have too many worries, fears and doubts, we have no room for living and loving. We need to practice letting go.”
