Indian batting great Virat Kohli video-called the Royal Challengers Bangalore women's team to celebrate their Women's Premier League 2024 title victor y. RCB took down the Delhi Capitals by eight wickets thanks to top performances from the likes of Shreyanka Patil, Ellyse Perry and Sophie Molineux.
Batting first, the Delhi Capitals started off with a blistering 61-run powerplay but lost seven wickets and were reduced to 87-7 in 14.1 overs. Molineux picked up three wickets in one over before Patil chipped in with a spell of 4-12 in her four overs. Then with the bat, Ellyse Perry scored an unbeaten 35 in 37 balls with four fours helping RCB clinch their first title in franchise history.
Virat Kohli video calls Royal Challengers Bangalore women
After this victory, former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli greeted the RCB women by video calling the team. He then shared a story on Instagram which was captioned, "Superwomen", as he serenaded the women's team which won the first trophy in RCB history.

Australian spinner Sophie Molineux was named the Player of the Match for her stunning over where she picked up three wickets to turn the game in Bangalore's favour. Speaking in the post-match interview, Molineux said, "Was a great match. Finals are always funny games. Delhi Capitals were a great team throughout the season. Pretty happy to get over the line."
"Felt I was bowling slow tonight. Had been bowling quick throughout the tournament - took the learnings from it. To be taken on by RCB after not playing cricket for a while was pretty special. To be a part of it was really cool."
