Virat Kohli and former opening batter Virender Sehwag have been two of the star players of their era during their tenure in the Indian cricket team. Sehwag was known for his attacking batting style and is the only Indian player to hit two triple hundreds in Test cricket. Meanwhile, Kohli, who still plays ODIs for India has been one of the greatest cricketers of this generation and has shattered several records in his career so far.Now, the legacy of Virat Kohli and Virender Sehwag is set to go forward as Virat’s nephew and Sehwag son’s have been shortlisted for the auction of the upcoming edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) in 2026.
Aryaveer Kohli, son of Virat Kohli’s real brother Vikas Kohli is a part of initial draft list for DPL 2026 auction. Unlike Virat, his nephew is a leg spinner and trains under Rajkumar Sharma who is Virat Kohli’s childhood coach. Along with him. Aryavir Sehwag and Vedant Sehwag, who are born to Virender Sehwag have also been shortlisted for auction of Delhi Premier League 2026.
Virat Kohli’s nephew slotted into Category C, Virender Sehwag’s son also in list for DPL 2026
Virat Kohli’s nephew Aryaveer Kohli has been given the category C for the Delhi Premier League 2026 auction which has been registered for Under-16 players from the city. He trains under Rajkumar Sharma at West Delhi Cricket Academy. Talking about Virender Sehwag’s 17-year-old son Aryavir, he has also represented Delhi earlier in the Under-19 category. He earned the limelight for his mammoth knock of 297 runs against Meghalaya.
Aryavir Sehwag’s younger brother, Vedant is an off-spinner and has played for Delhi in the under–16 category. The auction for the second season of Delhi Premier League is scheduled to take place on July 5. This season will also see two new teams making their mark including Outer Delhi and New Delhi franchises. The other six teams from the previous season are East Delhi Riders, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions, South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Dilli 6, and Central Delhi Kings.
