According to several media reports, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and his wife, Aarti Ahlawat are heading towards divorce after two decades of their marriage. The couple, who tied a knot in 2004 are reportedly living apart for several months now, but haven’t made an official statement in regards to the same so far.
The news came into limelight after reports flooded social media on Thursday, January 23 regarding the retired cricketer. Notably, Sehwag, who has two triple centuries to his name in Tests and his wife Aarti have two sons, Aryavir and Vedant. While Aryavir was born in 2007, almost three years after their marriage, Vedant came into their lives in 2010.

According to a report published by The Hindustan Times, all may not be well between the couple and they have been living separately for months now. This came into news seeing that Sehwag has not posted any photo with wife Aarti in recent times, though his profile does have the couple’s old pictures. Moreover, the report also claims that the former Indian cricketer is not following Aarti, whose Instagram profile is private.
Things have further rifed after Sehwag recently shared picture from his visit to Vishwa Nagayakshi Temple in Palakkad on Instagram, somewhere close to two weeks ago without mentioning abour Aarti. Prior to this, the retired cricket posted pictures from his Diwali celebrations which only included his son and his mother.
It is to be noted that Aarti, Sehwag’s wife has maintained a low profile despite being in the public eye. The couple’s love story dates back to 2000s, followed by a grand wedding hosted at the residence of late Arun Jaitley, the then Finance Minister of India. Born on December 16, 1980 in the national capital, Aarti pursued her education at Lade Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan. She went on to complete a diploma in Computer Science at Maitreyi College, Delhi University.
On the other, speaking of Sehwag, the cricketer retired from international cricket in 2015 and went on to serve on the National Anti-Doping Agency’s Appeal Panel. He also worked closely to build his educational institute, Sehwag International School and works as a cricket analyst and commentator now.
