The W series on Monday confirmed that they will call off the remaining races of the season. Notably, this decision of the series comes due to lack of financial funding after the race at Marina Bay Circuit Singapore on 30 September - 2 October.
The 2022 season puts a curtain with three races remaining at Circuit of the Americas, USA on 21-22 October and a double header at Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez, Mexico City on 28-30 Octo b er.
With this season cancelled, the body aims at signing long-term fundraising to enable the longevity of the W series going into 2023 and further.
Also, with the season curtailed, Jamie Chadwick remains the clear winner of the Drivers’ Championship with 50 points. It is her third win with 11 wins, 10 pole positions and 18 podium finishes of her career.
Chadwick took to social media to thank the W Series for giving a platform and a chance to showcase her talent. She also extended her support as she finished with her third title.
