Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green received an indefinite suspension from the NBA after his latest ejection from the Warriors' previous game against the Phoenix Suns. Green got the suspension less than 24 hours after hitting the Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face and received a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection. Earlier, there were reports by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Warriors’ star Draymond Green received an indefinite suspension.
Not only this but reports by ESPN also stated that Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and agent Rich Paul will meet on Thursday to discuss a counseling plan to get Green help. However, the league later announced the suspension for "Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts." The decision marked Green’s second suspension for the season as well as the 18th of his career.
The league announced, “Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.” The official statement added, “The incident occurred with 8:23 remaining in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 119-116 loss to the Suns on Dec. 12 at Footprint Center. Green received a Flagrant Foul 2 and was ejected.”
Adding that the player would be required to meet certain terms, the statement further read, “Green’s suspension will begin immediately. He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play.” A few other reports by Bobby Marks of ESPN suggest that the 33-year-old could lose over $2 million if he gets suspended for 15 games and can lose more than $4 million if he gets suspended for 20 games.
