Babar Azam impressed the cricketing world with his impressive batting and successful captaincy in 2021, also managing to bag the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the year award for 2021. In fact, Babar was also named the captain of the ICC's men's T20I and ODI teams of the year 2021. While it was expected that Babar would continue to amaze everyone with his form and leadership in Pakistan Super League 2022, the rather unexpected has occurred in the T20 competition.

Babar Azam-led Karachi Kings are having a nightmarish outing in the PSL; having lost all the games played so far. The Karachi franchise is struggling at the bottom of the points table. Although the skipper has performed well with the bat, his captaincy has been under heavy scrutiny. While Karachi faced yet another defeat on Wednesday against Multan Sultan by 7-wickets, a video of Karachi Kings' president Wasim Akram animatedly shouting at Babar caught everyone's attention. The video immediately went viral, and the Twitter world was quick to speculate what led to Wasim's sharp reaction to Babar Azam.

With so many theories and rumours going around, Wasim Akram doused the fire on Thursday by clarifying the same. Taking to Twitter, the legendary Pakistan cricketer informed that he was only asking Babar about the bowler's plans as they were executing their plans properly which had been discussed in the dressing room.

Akram also confessed that he was a bit annoyed with bowlers for conceding too many runs for their liking. But Akram hailed the skipper for giving his 100 per cent in the game, which eventually wasn't enough for them.

Akram's tweet read, "Hello! Surprised to see reactions on my talking to Babar at the boundary last night. What I was saying was 'why our bowlers are not bowling yorkers or slower ones offside off'. Nothing else. Babar is a wonderful boy and has tried his best. And what he wants for dinner."

Notably, Babar Azam (2 from 4 balls) failed to score big in the last clash against Multan Sultan where Karachi could not defend the total of 174-6. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans chased down the target convincingly in 19.3 overs due to heroic batting by their skipper Md Rizwan (76), Shan Masood (45) and middle-order batter Khushdil Shah (21).
