Wasim Jaffer, who is famous for his quirky posts on social media, came up with another hilarious tweet on Monday. When Australia announced their playing XI for the first T20I against New Zealand, the former Indian cricketer came up with a meme that left the fans in splits.

Jaffer funnily terms Australian team as RCB

Reflecting on Australia’s team, the 43-year-old shared a rib-tickling meme. He compared Australia’s team to Virat Kohli-led IPL side through a funny tweet. Notably, as many as five players that were featuring in the Aussie side will play for RCB in IPL 2021. Jaffer also added a smiling wink emoji to the tweet which was captioned, “#NZvAUS or #NZvRCB?”

The Australia team featured Josh Philippe, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa, players that RCB had retained for the upcoming IPL season. Two latest additions to the Bangalore franchise in the form of all-rounders Daniel Sams and Glenn Maxwell completed the 5-man RCB line-up in the Australian side. Notably, the Kangaroos also had two former RCB players in the form of Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis.

A disappointing outing for RCB players

Talking about the match, the management of Royal Challengers Bangalore won’t be very pleased with how the players performed against New Zealand in the first T20I on Monday. In the bowling department, Adam Zampa (3-0-20-0) and Kane Richardson (4-0-42-0) remained wicket-less. Although Daniel Sams (4-0-40-2) took two wickets, he remained quite expensive as well. Josh Philippe (2 off 3) and Glenn Maxwell (1 off 5) also had a dismal outing with the bat. Australia eventually lost the first T20I against New Zealand by 53 runs.
