There is no messing up with Team India. Not only do their performances speak for themselves especially in Test match cricket in recent times, but there is also another saviour for the Men in Blue on social media and it is none other than the former India opener Wasim Jaffer.

The cricketer-turned coach and now also a known cricket pundit Jaffer is known for his clever social media presence and has yet again ruthlessly ridiculed Steve Smith while responding to an Australian broadcaster's social media post mocking Kohli on social media.

Although the 7 Cricket's Twitter account had compared Kohli's batting average since the start of 2019 to show how their left-arm pacer has a better batting record (an average of 38.63) in this time than the India captain (an average of 37.17), Jaffer thought it best to give it back to the Aussie media house by trolling Smith.

"ODI Career batting average: Navdeep Saini: 53.50 Steve Smith: 43.34," he tweeted.

Earlier, Jaffer had himself expressed his opinion on Kohli's recent dismissal in the first Test of the ongoing series against South Africa. The Indian domestic cricket legend Jaffer observed that the right-handed batter tends to bat beautifully till he gets out. He also dubbed it as yet another phase in the career of a "great player".

"Kohli was playing beautifully. But that has been the case with Virat for such a long time. He bats beautifully till he gets out and that is something that is disappointing. That happens to great players. There comes a time when they go through a bad patch. But it doesn’t look like a bad patch because he bats so beautifully till he gets out. He will feel like he missed an opportunity," Jaffer said on ESPNCricinfo after the Boxing-Day test.

Kohli though missed out on the second Test match due to an upper back spasm and should be back into the XI for the third Test starting on January 11 at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. The series is poised at 1-1 and with Kohli coming back at the helm, India could get the passion and experience in leadership which they seemingly lacked under stand-in captain Rahul as they lost a Test in Johannesburg for the first time.
