Actor and racer Ajith Kumar, who is currently in Italy for GT4 European race, evaded a car accident and escaped unhurt during the competition. The incident took place in the second round of the series, held at the Misano track. However, unfazed by the crash, the Tamil actor gained respect for standing up and assisting scavengers in clearing debris from the track. GT4 European Series, through their official X handle, dropped a clip of Kumar, in which he can be observing trash beside his car and collecting the wreckage to help salvagers clear the area.

The X clip was captioned, “Out of the race with damage, but still happy to help with the clean-up. Full respect, Ajith Kumar.” Noting Ajith’s helping side, a commentator from the race said, “There’s Ajith Kumar out of the car, out of the race, and that’s really the first significant bit of damage we’ve seen from him this year. Because he’s a fine chap, he goes and helps the marshals clear up all the body work. Not many drivers would do that.”

Ajith’s racing career

Ajith Kumar, who became the recipient of Padma Bhushan honour for his contribution to Indian cinema, broke into racing in 2003 with Formula BMW Asia. This year, he returned to the sport with the ‘Dubai 24 Hours’ series. In the ‘24 Hours’ series, he made his debut with the newly formed team Ajith Kumar Racing in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup category.

During the Dubai tournament, he met with a minor accident during practice but went on to conclude his campaign in the third spot. Kumar will now gear up for his next assignment, the third round of the GT4 European Series, set to be held in Belgium.
