Former middleweight champion Alex Pereira made his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291 on Saturday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The UFC 291 co-main event witnessed the Brazilian fighter winning his debut LHW fight against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jan Błachowicz. However, the 36-year-old's post-victory stint made headlines as the MMA fighter was spotted eating a meal just after the fight.
Alex Pereira defeated Jan Błachowicz by a split decision in a closely-contested fight on Saturday night. Pereira snubbed a trilogy fight with champion Israel Adesanya in the middleweight category at UFC 287 to prepare for the 205-pound division.
With this victory against Błachowicz, Pereira made himself a potential light heavyweight title contender after Jamahal Hill recently relinquished the title. After the fight, Pereira, who recently moved to the LHW division, was spotted enjoying his victory meal in a viral video on social media.

While the bout between Pereira and Błachowicz was highly entertaining, the close fight resulted in the Brazilian's favor by 29-28, 28-29, 29-28. Ahead of his light heavyweight debut, "Poatan" talked about his diet plans on the UFC 291 Embedded Vlog series with Glover Texeira. Pereira said, "I’m eating very well now. I had no restrictions, and I can eat whatever I want."
