Japanese Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda managed to win many hearts as he was seen helping out the people of Faenza in their clean-up mission following the Northeastern Italy floods. This natural calamity also led to the cancellation of the upcoming 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21 May 2023. 


But before the Grand Prix, the AlphaTauri team was at their base in Faenza which was among the areas affected by the floods. Here, Tsunoda was seen helping the people of the Northeastern Italian city as he was cleaning the AlphaTauri factory and the streets adjacent which were full of sludge.

Writing on Twitter, Tsunoda opened up about how he and his team managed to survive the floods and described the scary conditions caused by the calamity. He shared, "After a horrible night the town is heavily impacted: dust, mud, and the smell of gasoline everywhere. Currently, people are struggling to find food and especially places to stay after many have been evacuated from their own homes." In this Twitter post, Tsunoda also shared information about an emergency fundraiser for the people affected by these floods.

Talking about Yuki Tsunoda’s teammate Nyck De Vries, the Dutch driver revealed in an Instagram post that he was stranded in a rural village en route to Faenza. As the roads to the team hotel were flooded and the highways were also blocked away, he had to live in a fully booked hotel and then drove back home via Firenze.
