Indian Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur praises the Indian captain Rohit Sharma for attending the inauguration of the Khel Mahakumbh. The statement came when the Union Minister gave his speech during the opening of the Khel Mahakumbh in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.
Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur launched the third phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh at Luhnu Cricket Ground in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, March 5. Praising the Indian skipper for his commitment to empowering the nation's youth, Thakur said that Rohit knew India’s future would be here.
In his statement, the Sports Minister said, "Rohit Sharma came to Bilaspur from Delhi at 5.30 am to inaugurate Khel Mahakumbh. If Rohit wanted, he could've refused to come as the 5th Test starts from 7th March, but he came as he knew India's future would be here".

Recently, Rohit Sharma also attended the pre-wedding festivities of the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. Before that, he was scheduled to leave for Dharamsala where the fifth and final Test is slated to begin.
5th Test slated to begin on March 7 in Dharamsala
India is scheduled to host England for the fifth and final Test from March 7-11, 2024 at Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. India has already clinched the series with a 3-1 margin with one match yet to go. Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal currently leads the run-scoring chart with 655 runs in the four Tests he has played.
