Lucknow Super Giants defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday (April 16) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Lucknow posted 199/4 on the back of KL Rahul's 103 in just 60 balls and a 38-run cameo from Manish Pandey. In response, Mumbai Indians had a troublesome start as Rohit Sharma got dismissed after adding just 6-runs in seven balls.

After Rohit's departure, Mumbai Indians batter Dewald Brevis took things under control and showed off his skills from the very first ball. He came to bat in the 3rd over of the second innings after Rohit Sharma got dismissed by Avesh Khan and hit a boundary on the first ball he faced. Brevis continued his form and kept hitting boundaries and maximums, but he unleashed his lethal mode in the 5th over of the second innings. Dushmantha Chameera's over went for 20 runs, courtesy of 'Baby AB.'

However, during the game, a mini-collision was witnessed between Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni during the 7th over of the game. As Surya tucked away the ball behind square on the on-side, both the fielders ran towards the ball and collided in order to hold the ball. Fortunately, nothing serious happened. However, Brevis' blistering knock was just there for a few balls as he soon got dismissed to Avesh Khan. Lot was dependent on Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma and experienced Kieron Pollard, but despite a few cracking shots and blistering cameos, none of the Mumbai batters could help their side to cross the winning margin. Hence, Mumbai Indians suffered their record sixth successive defeat on the trot.
