After thrashing South Africa in three-match ODIs series, Bangladesh is carrying on a similar form in the ongoing first Test match between both teams at Kingsmead in Durban. After South Africa posted 367 in the first innings, Bangladesh batters added 298 runs in response and got bundled out in 115.5 overs in the first innings of their batting.

Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy's 137 and Liton Das' 41 in 92 balls were two watch out performances from the visitors. While South Africa, who came to bat with a 69-runs lead in the second innings, was surprised by Bangladesh's disciplined bowling and exceptional fielding. After Yasir Ali pulled off a stunner to dismiss Bavuma in 44th over of the match, Bangladesh batter Shadman Islam took yet another super catch at silly point to dismiss Kyle Verreynne in the 53rd over of South Africa's second innings.

Mehidy Hasan invited Verreynne to play the off-break, and the batter shaped it for the reverse sweep, but the ball took the toe edge and bounced back off the pad; Islam, who was standing at silly-point, dived to his left and came up with a one-handed blinder. Islam's brilliance in the field packed Verreynne's bag and reduced South Africa's total to 148-5 in 52.1 overs.

Earlier, in response to South Africa's 367 in the first innings, Bangladesh batter Mahmudul Hasan Jay scored a superb 137-runs in 326 balls and guided the visitors to 298-10 in total 115.5 overs. South Africa had the lead of 69-runs when they came out to bat in the 2nd innings and have added 226 runs till Tea Break on Day 4. By the time of submitting the copy, Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder are trying to add as many as runs and post a competitive total in front of Bangladesh.
