Canadian Tennis star Bianca Andreescu had a vocal outburst after being distracted by a fan during her loss against Marta Kostyuk at the Mubadala Citi DC Open 2023. Kostyuk was a set down and then pulled off a stunning win by saving three match points to register a 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) victory.

Coming back to Andreescu’s verbal spat with the fan, the former US Open winner was serving at 2-2, 0-15 and a double fault. Immediately, after the umpire’s call, the arena heard another 'out' call from the stands. Agitated by this shout, Andreescu turned towards the fan and threw her hands in anger while yelling at him. She later refused to play and demanded the fan be taken out, which was done by the stadium security.

Talking about the match, Marta Kostyuk had a resilient performance as she went down 2-6 but soon came back 6-3 in game two. Both competitors took things to the next level as Kostyuk went up 2-1 in the third set before Andreescu levelled but the Ukrainian took a 4-2 lead. But as the match reached a tie-breaker Marta Kostyuk held her own to clinch the match.
Now the 21-year-old will face No.2 seed Caroline Garcia in the second round. Reacting to her win, Kostyuk said, "I lost my chances at 4-all, there were some painful mistakes. Honestly, I didn't believe I could win this one but I was just trying to play every point and stay in the match and fight not give up."
