The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the biggest T20 Leagues in the world and any player, irrespective of how big, feel the pressure of the games. And for youngsters, it's even harder to keep up with the ebbs and flows of the matches. Although today's generation of players wear their hearts on their sleeves, sometimes they too do feel the nerves and become a victim of brain fade moments.

A similar sort of incident happened in Match 48 of IPL 2022 where Jitesh Sharma and Arshdeep Singh became the victims of a brain-fade moment and missed a clear runout chance. It was more on Jitesh as he could not decide what to do at that moment while Arshdeep could only see him puzzled.

On the last ball of the 20th over of the Gujarat innings, Arshdeep Singh bowled a great length ball which the batter (Sai Sudharsan) missed. However, Alzarri Joseph who was at the non-striker's end sensed an opportunity for a single and ran quickly towards the opposite end. Meanwhile, Sudharsan was well rooted in his crease.

While all of this was happening, Punjab's wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma could not decide where to throw the ball even with both batters almost at one end. Sharma could only see Sai completing the run while the wicketkeeper held the ball in his hand. Arshdeep, on the other hand, could not believe what just happened.

Punjab bowlers leave an impact

Coming to the game, Punjab bowlers put on some brave performance to stop Gujarat to a below-par total (143/8). Kagiso Rabada led the attack with his 4-wicket haul. The Punjab pacer took the key wickets of Wriddhiman Saha, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, and Locke Ferguson. He was ably supported by Arshdeep Singh, Rishi Dhawan, and Liam Livingston who took a wicket each.
