Navratri is one of the most vibrant and joyous festival celebrated in the northern part of India. The word ‘Navratri’ translates to ‘nine nights’ celebrated in the honour of Hindu goddess Durga. During the celebration of nine days, devotees perform the Garba dance, as an act of worshipping the Hindu deity. While Garba is popular in all parts of the country, it carries a special significance in the state of Gujarat, considering it originated from the North Western state.
This year, the nine-day festival began on October 3 and will conclude on October 12. During the festival, a video started doing rounds on social media, where fans were spotted doing Garba with a twist. The video showed a group of local cricketers in Gujarat playing Garba with their bats. In the video, the players were dressed up in their jerseys and were seen performing various batting shots while dancing to the tunes in circles. Needless to say, the video started doing rounds on social media and netizens loved the twist added to the dance.
India aiming to win series against Bangladesh
While devotees are enjoying Garba in one corner of the country, the Indian cricket team is set to lock horns with Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I. After registering a lop-sided win over their rivals, Suryakumar Yadav and Co. will aim to win the series in the second game of the series at the Arun Jaitl ey Stadium in New Delhi. However, on the other hand, the visitors will aim to level the series and take the action to a decider.
