Match no. 24 of IPL 2022 is underway at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. Gujarat Titans did a great job to post a massive 192/4 on the board while batting first. Their captain Hardik Pandya was the best performer with his unbeaten 87 off 52 balls. Abhinav Manohar and David Miller also played crucial knocks of 43 (28) and 31* (14) respectively.
However, Rajasthan Royals also got to a flying start courtesy of some brilliant hitting from Jos Buttler. The swashbuckling batter started his onslaught right from the second ball of RR innings. He hit Mohammed Shami for three consecutive boundaries in the very first over. He also took on debutant Yash Dayal in the second over as he aggregated 15 runs off the first five deliveries.
Gujarat Titans looked puzzled against Buttler, but they were keeping it tight against other batters. Yash Dayal dismissed Devdutt Padikkal for a duck in the same over. Shubman Gill took a sharp catch in slips to get rid of Padikkal. To everyone's surprise, R Ashwin came to bat at No.3 for RR in place of captain Sanju Samson.
However, the batter could not trouble the scoreboard for long as he was dismissed by Lockie Ferguson on the first ball of his first over. David Miller took a brilliant catch while fielding at short covers. The Proteas cricketer showed great reflexes to get hold of a ball that was travelling like a bullet. Miller got down so quickly and grabbed the ball cleanly.

Gujarat tighten the grip!
After this wicket of R Ashwin, Ferguson also got the most important wicket in the match as he dismissed Jos Buttler off a leg-cutter. Ferguson completely outfoxed Buttler as he reduced his bowling speed by almost 20 kph. From thereon, GT did not allow any RR batter to settles as kept striking at regular intervals.
