Dewald Brevis takes stunning boundary catch to dismiss Faf du Plessis

Nicknamed as ‘Baby AB’ after sharing resemblance with AB de Villiers’ gameplay, Dewald Brevis defied the odds on the Johannesburg outfield to grab a beauty. The moment unfolded on the first delivery of the eighth over, which was being bowled by Kagiso Rabada. Brevis intercepted the ball inches close to the boundary rope and threw it in the air. However, he was quick to get back on the field to complete a catch, leaving everyone in awe of the skill.

The catch was similar to that of Suryakumar Yadav’s T20 World Cup 2024 catch, which changed the momentum of the game in favour of India. Although, the third umpire carefully reviewed it, the decision was confirmed, drawing widespread acclaim for ‘Baby AB’.
