The new signing of Manchester United from Paraguay, the 18-year-old Diego Leon provides an irregular assist as the academy graduate of Manchester United, Ethan Williams put the final nail to the coffin as United breezed past Bournemouth in the Premier League summer series played at the Soldier field in Chicago. Diego Leon made a statement run of intent from the half-line and went past some defenders. However, the Paraguayan International tripped just outside the box as he lost his footing just as he was approaching towards the goal.
However, the young 19-year-old Ethan Williams took his chances and challenged to get to the ball and showed beautiful composure inside the box as he shifted the ball from the left foot to his right and dispatched it into the bottom left corner to make it 4 for United on the day. Diego Leon was later bantered on social media by his team mates as they made fun of the slip that marked his first assist for Manchester United.
Manchester United destroy Bournemouth; Clinch a 4-1 victory over the Cherries
Manchester United continued their unbeaten streak in the pre-season friendlies against Bournemouth. United started with a team very similar to the team of the previous season. The Red Devils' latest additions Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were not a part of the squad for this match. United showed a very dominant display against the Cherries in the starting 30 minutes of the match. United were quick on the pitch and looked aggressive in their approach and went all in to emerge victorious.
Rasmus Hojlund started the scoring with a beautiful header, Dorgu showcased his dominance of power and clinical finishing to score the second for Manchester United. United’s superstar of the previous campaign Amad Diallo scored the third for United and Ethan William’s beautiful finish made it 4 on the day for United. An own goal by De Ligt in the 88th minute prevented United from getting a well deserved clean sheet. However, Ruben Amorim’s Reds are looking in good touch to start the Premier league opener against the Gunners.
