NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Anthony Edwards swapped their signature shoes after the Cleveland Cavaliers’ clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The young duo’s combined All-Star appearances count to seven after the 2024 All-Star game. Mitchell and Edwards had discussed swapping signature shoes at the 2024 game, and they fulfilled it during the Friday night clash between the Cabs and the Timberwolves.
In a video doing rounds on social media, the players could be seen exchanging their signature Adidas kicks, the Adidas AE1 and D.O.N. Issue 6. Nice Kicks on Instagram posted pictures of Mitchell and Edwards and wrote, "After discussing swapping pairs during All-Star Weekend, Anthony Edwards and Donovan Mitchell finally traded each other their Adidas AE 1 and D.O.N. Issue 6 after the Cavs/Timberwolves game.”
Ant's brings out the best in you: Donovan Mitchell
The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard recently appeared on the Club 520 podcast, where he heaped praise on Anthony Edwards. When NBA All-Star Jeff Teague asked him about who of the Adidas’ roster of NBA stars was his ‘favorite matchup’. Mitchell replied, "I gotta say Ant. Ant brings it every night. I think Ant's brings out the best in you. He talks and all that, but as a competitor, that's what you want. You want to go against, you know, a guy like him. So I would say he's probably number one for sure just because of the energy he brings."
Coming back to the clash between the Cavaliers and Timberwolves, the former registered a 113-104 victory over their counterparts. Cavaliers star Mitchell was ruled out of the game after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection for his left knee bone bruise. On the other hand, Anthony Edwards finished as the highest run scorer for his side with 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
