Since its inception in 2008, the Indian Premier League has undoubtedly broken all barriers among various countries as players from across the globe come together and share the same dressing room for weeks. As a result, fans have been lucky to see some beautiful bonds developing among rival players who represent the same franchise.

From Royal Challengers Bangalore's AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli to Mumbai Indians' Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard, there are some unique friendships that have developed over the years between players from different nations as well as with their franchises which they have been representing in IPL. An extremely heartwarming glimpse of the same was seen during the recently concluded season of Caribbean Premier League when the star duo of Chennai Super Kings expressed their love for the franchise during the toss.

It all happened ahead of the CPL 2021 match between Saint Lucia Kings and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, led by Faf du Plessis and Dwayne Bravo respectively. As the coin flip landed in favour of Bravo, the duo shook hands and started singing, "We are the Chennai boys, making all the noise, everywhere we go," and erupted in laughter.

Bravo and du Plessis open up on the viral act

The video had gone viral on social media with the CSK duo winning everyone's hearts with their action. However, there was a bit of mystery on how the two players decided to come up with the same. Was it impromptu or was it pre-planned? Chennai Super Kings have ended the mystery by posting a video on their social media account, where the duo reveal the story behind the same.

Faf du Plessis said, "When we were going to the toss, I think it was Simon Doull or someone who was saying (looking at him and Bravo) as two CSK boys." This is what prompted the two players to come up with a plan. “I was like, how about we sing out team song, ‘We are the Chennai boys’. He (Faf) said let’s go for it. And so we said, depending on whoever wins the toss, will start it and the next one will join,” Bravo stated.

As it happened, the two overseas stars of the Yellow Army pulled off the idea to perfection as they expressed their love for the franchise. “The CSK bond, nothing can get between that. We are proud to represent the best franchise in IPL and we are the Chennai boys,” Bravo concluded.
