Any sport thrives on its fans. Nothing thus hurts more to sports-persons than knowing that there was no backing they received. On the other hand, the team or an individual who has a huge fan base feels more motivated to come back stronger to bring joy to those set of people. And if the sport is cricket, the support is from an entire country and its people in different parts of the world.

England's Barmy Army got a taste of just that when they took to social media to share a viral video in which a batter is seen playing an outrageous stroke. The batter makes the connection with the ball after the ball had gone past him and almost digs the ball way into the on the side after it had pitched seemingly on a much-straighter line.

In addition, the right-handed batter needed only his left hand to make a solid connection and send the ball to quite a distance. The video contains the text: "Surely not" and was captioned: "WHAT IS THIS ?" by the Barmy Army.

However, Indian fans looked in a mood for some banter and commented on the post saying that a similar outrageous effort could be produced by India's Rishabh Pant against England's top bowlers like James Anderson and Jofra Archer.

Their comments came since Pant famously played a reverse sweep over the slip cordon to Anderson, the highest wicket-taker among pacers in Test match cricket. The left-handed batter is known for those kinds of shots and Indian fans were quick to point that out to the English cricket fan group.

Pant even top-scored for Team India with an 85 in the second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. However, his effort was not enough to help the Men in Blue win the match as they lost by 7 wickets and India have conceded the series 2-0 with one match to go.
