WATCH: Faf du Plessis hits longest six of IPL 2023, Maxwell's reaction goes viral

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was also left in awe seeing Faf going for a massive six, which happens to be the longest in the ongoing season.

The IPL 2023 fixture between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants saw RCB captain Faf du Plessis hit the biggest six of the season. After a blistering start thanks to an incredible half-century by Virat Kohli, who was dismissed at the score of 61 in 44 balls.

After Kohli got out, Du Plessis took the responsibility of increasing the scoring rate. The former South African captain targeted Indian leggie Ravi Bishnoi in the 15th over. Faf got on the strike for the third ball and smashed a stunning six. Then on the next ball, he smashed Bishnoi's short ball for 115m six which went out of the stadium.

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was also left in awe seeing Faf going for a massive six, which happens to be the longest in the ongoing season. 

With this maximum, Du Plessis and Maxwell kickstarted an incredible finish by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. This pair smashed 108 runs in the last 7 overs with the South African remaining not out at 79 in 46 balls. While  Maxwell  got out after scoring  59 in 29 balls.

In the mid-innings interview, Glen  Maxwell  spoke about feeling positive and elated as managed to play his first big knock after coming back from injury. He said,  "Felt better, haven't really done it for five months. Nice to get some match rhythm."

"To do it front of the home fans is special. I am certainly over the rehab, it's a tiring routine that I've to go through. Hopefully, I'll be back to full fitness in a couple of months. This is a nice and big step forward," he further added.
