Cricket is arguably one of the most loved games on this planet. It is played by people across the globe and thus different versions of this are also seen. While at the professional level, we see acrobatic fielding efforts, in village cricket successfully completing a simple catch is also considered a big achievement. It's always a good feeling to contribute to a team's win.
But what happens if the simplest of the catches is dropped and the ball rolls down to the boundary ropes? The teammates get upset and the fielder is reminded of the mistake for a long time. But sometimes, the drop leaves everyone in splits rather than in hurt. A similar incident happened in a game in the European Cricket T10 League. In a match between Helsinki Titans and Star CC, an easy catch not only got dropped but also cost four runs to the feeding team as the ball rolled down to the ropes after hitting the fielder's head.
Jatin Madan, the bowler did everything in his capacity right as he managed to get the batter to mistime the ball, but the fielder could not complete the catch. Rather he got hit on his head and the ball then rolled down to the boundary ropes costing the team four precious runs.

Star CC win the game eventually
The drop, thankfully, did not cost much as the batter Ghulam Abbas Butt was dismissed in the same over. The match, however, turned out to be an interesting affair with both teams scoring 118 in their quota of 10 overs. Star CC while batting first put 118/6 on the back of a fine knock from Jatin Madan (49 off 20 balls). Wicketkeeper batter Advyth Manepali and captain Vijay Desai also chipped in with handy 24 and 17 respectively.
For Titans, openers G Abbas Butt and Abdul Ahad Qureshi scored the majority of runs. While Butt got dismissed for a 12-ball 33, Qureshi notched up a brisk half-century (50 off 18 balls). With the scores ending in a tie, it came down to the golden ball which was clinched by Star CC.
For those who don't know the golden ball rule, in this, the team batting second is given an additional ball and has to score two runs to win the game. If they fail to score two runs off that one delivery, the bowling team wins, which happened here with Helsinki Titans.
