Vincenzo Italiano, head coach of Serie A Club, Fiorentina, brought a young fan onto the pitch to celebrate their quarterfinal win in Coppa Italia on January 9, Tuesday (IST). Fiorentina recorded a 5-4 win over Bologna through a penalty shootout to move to the semifinal stage of the tournament. The match saw Bologna defender Stefan Posch fire their fifth penalty over the bar before Fiorentina midfielder Maxime Lopez converted it to help his side make it to the semifinals.
After the match, Fiorentina's boss enjoyed the club’s victory by carrying a young fan into his arms and taking him onto the field. In the video, Italiano could be seen carrying a kid sitting in the audience. The video was shared by Lega Serie A on their social media platforms and captioned, “Vincenzo Italiano knows how to celebrate.”
Bologna, who defeated Inter Milan in the last 16, had more control over the game right from the beginning, but they ended up on the other side of the victory line. Fiorentina, who currently stands at the fourth spot in the Serie A standings with 33 points, displayed a brilliant show of their defense skills to register their name as the winners. They made it to their third consecutive semifinal for the first time. In their next clash, they will lock horns with either AC Milan or Atalanta.
